Author(s):

Mincha Anna and Koj Roshni

Abstract:

As societies become more linguistically diverse, the demand for effective integration of multilingual education increases. National Curriculum Framework 2023 also advocates for multilingual education and emerging technologies like generative AI with gamified content to improve language learning. Technology, particularly digital language learning apps, has emerged as a trans-formative tool offering innovative approaches to language acquisition, and providing personalized, interactive, and accessible learning experiences. They hold the potential to enhance language proficiency and bridge communication gaps in multilingual environments. However, the integration of technology in language education poses some complexities and challenges. This paper aims to assess the strengths and limitations of digital language learning apps in multilingual environments, to develop a deeper understanding of how technology can effectively bridge linguistic diversity and foster successful communication in our linguistically diverse education system.
