A review: Effective strategies for preparing general education teachers to work with students with disabilities

Abstract:

General education is an educational curriculum that exposes students to various academic disciplines, fostering intellectual development, cultural awareness, ethical reasoning, lifelong learning, and practical skills. It is often part of college and university curricula, varying in structure and content. Disabilities, a broad spectrum of impairments, are a separate field. Inclusive design, accessibility, and removing barriers are crucial for their inclusion and participation. Advances in technology have improved the lives of many people with disabilities. Despite progress, stigma and discrimination still exist, and advocacy is essential for their empowerment.
