This study seeks to identify and explore the effect of awareness seminars held by Al-Diwaniyah General Directorate of Education during the academic year 2019-2020. It is part of the ministerial plan to educate preparatory school students with all its branches. The study used the descriptive approach, which is one of the most important approaches used in media studies, and the researcher used the survey method (questionnaire) to collect data, and the sample was chosen from the study community in a random way from propitiatory school students consisting of (327) singles. Face validity was verified by presenting the questionnaire forms to a group of experts. The study has reached to:
1. Seminars held by the Al-Diwaniyah General Directorate of Education played a positive role in educating, providing useful information and guiding students. Students have drawn a realistic picture of the risks of this phenomenon and its implications for both society and the individual. The school has a prominent role in informing students of unwanted behavioral phenomena. There is a tendency to participate in anti-drug community campaigns through cooperative societies and relevant civil society organizations.
2. There are no statistically significant differences between attending the seminar and the mental image they drew on the phenomenon of drug abuse attributed to the gender variable. There are no statistically significant differences between classes and the desire to participate in awareness campaigns with cooperative and charitable organizations and societies.
In light of these results, the researcher presented a set of recommendations to those responsible for the educational process.
